Any real Mitsubishi enthusiast is aware of the importance of the HSR vehicles.

HSR (Highly Sophisticated-transport Research) was a specialized range of Mitsubishi concept vehicles from the 1980s-1990s. Each HSR vehicle from HSR 1 to HSR 6 tested a radical technology that would be later developed into production cars.

This poster shows HSR 1 which was powered by a 295hp turbocharged 4G63 and had a top speed of 186mph. This first vehicle was a showcase for Mitsubishi's integrated electronic systems offering automatic control of drive train, suspension, steering, brakes, and driving position according to driving conditions or weather. Many technologies and styling cues such as the hood bump made their way to the Eclipse production car.
