DSMnation's 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T

This GS-T truly is one of a kind…

Back in 2012, I was driving around town in my GSX and stumbled across a mint condition silver GS-T in a supermarket parking lot. As I waited for the owner to come out, I was surprised to see an older woman with groceries walking to the car. I got out to help her with the groceries to score some brownie points! I immediately asked if the car was for sale, she just smiled and said “join the waiting list kid.”

On a random summer weekend three years later I decided to take an afternoon drive. Right outside my old high school I saw this car with a For Sale sign on it! I pulled right over and called the original owner. The original owner told me she had to sell her Valentine’s Day gift from her husband because she had hurt her leg and could no longer drive stick shift. As I pulled up to her house to see the car she remembered how I helped her with the groceries all those years back and gave me a huge discount on the car so I could afford it. She asked that I keep one promise: to keep it stock while I take care of it.

To this very day I have lived up to my word and babied this Eclipse. She’s never seen a day of rain in her life and only has 55K original miles. It has a very rare factory black leather interior (an option only in 1999), factory mudguards, and 5 spoke chrome wheels. I was very lucky to find a gem like this…she truly is the last of her kind.
